The stretch of water in between the sea bird colony of Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, off the coast of South Africa, is known as "Shark Alley". Every year, during the winter months, thousands of grey seals head to Geyser Rock to give birth to their pups. But in the water, danger lurks as a large number of Great White Sharks circle looking for an easy meal. As a result, the area has become known as the best place in the world to watch marine wildlife. Brave tourists cage dive and nature documentary makers film the sharks hunting as they spectacularly breach the surface. It's impossible to get a permit to swim in this area without a cage, so the only way to do it is virtually with SWIMTAG! This 10.25km route starts and finishes on the mainland at Pearly Beach. You'll head South West, circumnavigating Dyer Island and passing Geyser rock, before heading back to the safety of the shore!
